Established in 1918, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem is the second oldest and most highly regarded institution of higher education in Israel. Its 23,000 students hail from 65 countries and are encouraged to become involved with multi-disciplinary activities in Israel and overseas. Students attend classes at three campuses across the city of Jerusalem and three more in Israel as they work towards their degrees in the humanities, social sciences, exact sciences, and medicine. The University offers extensive study abroad opportunities for both their own students and visiting students as a way to promote strategic international collaboration.
The Hebrew University’s mission is to train public, educational, professional and scientific leadership, to preserve and conduct research into Jewish, cultural, spiritual, and intellectual traditions, and to expand the boundaries of knowledge for the wide benefit of the global community.
